Aban
relies on the generous support and giving of volunteers and
benefactors who help us achieve our mission. We are very grateful
for the many unsung heroes that have helped us grow since our
inception. It has not always been easy but we remain steadfast in
our committment to serving our community. We are indeed indebted to
those individuals and organizations that provided their time,
talent, resources, and monetary contribution. We recognize the
value of having this kind of support throughout the year, every
day, when and where we need it. Thank you for all that you
do.

If
you are interested in volunteering for one of our activites,
serving on our board of directors, or providing monetary and/or
other resource contributions, please contact us. We are more than
happy to match your gifts (talent and resources) with our
needs.
Volunteer
Aban hosts several activities throughout the
year. We are currently looking for engaged volunteers to assist us
with our summer wellness activities at Anacostia Park Roller
Skating Pavilion on Saturdays, starting June 13. In addition, we
are providing a summer obesity prevention program for youth in
Wards 7 and 8. Your support in these efforts are greatly
appreciated.
All volunteers must complete our volunteer
application. In cases where you are working directly with our
youth, you will be required to complete a DC Metropolitan Police
Department criminal background check and child protection registry
form. There is a cost associated with the two background checks
that we do not reimburse for at this time. You can download these

Join the Board of Directors
Aban
is seeking individuals to join our volunteer board of directos. If
you believe our mission matches your passion, then you should
consider serving our on board. As a board member you would be
required to:
- Commit to two years of service as fiduciary agent of the
organization
- Serve on a committee
- Attend quarterly and bi-annual meetings
- Provide an annual contribution
- Support public awareness and outreach of Aban and our
activities
- Participate in board training and
development

Financial and Other
Contributions
Financial contributions are the backbone of this organization.
Without your generous support we are unable to fulfill our mission.
There are several ways to contribute online to Aban by clicking on
the link in the "Donate" section, Networkforgood.org, and Combined
Federal Campaign. Or you can download the Aban Brochure and return your
contribution by mail. In many other cases, you may want to give
materials and other items that may be helpful in our activities.
Please use the Aban brochure to contribute in this manner. Most
contributions are tax dedictible; however, you should check with
your accountant as the tax laws have changed.
We also host bi-annual fundraisers
to support our programs and activities. If you would like to be put
on on our mailing list to receive these updates, please complete
the application in Aban's
brochure.
